Skooter’s Roadhouse has filed a lawsuit against an insurance company for improper claims practices, unreasonable delays, breach of contract and other allegations.
The lawsuit concerns the aftermath of a fire that damaged Skooter’s, 700 W. Jefferson St., Shorewood, on the evening of
Nov. 27, 2017. The damage was estimated to be $300,000.
The fire reportedly began in the kitchen area of the restaurant.
The lawsuit alleges that Clear Blue Specialty Insurance Co. had refused to undertake any repairs or rehabilitation of the property until its investigation concluded and it approved coverage. During the company’s four-month investigation, Skooter’s allegedly was unable to operate its business or undertake any repairs.
Skooter’s alleged that lost business income was undercalculated.
