Students at Skoff and Hermansen elementary schools in Romeoville recently participated in several fundraising activities for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

At Hermansen's “Jammies for JDRF Day” students made a contribution and wore their pajamas to school. The activities for JDRF were organized by District 365U director of elementary literacy and social studies teacher Amy Paris and are part Goal 4 and Strategy 7 of the District 365U Strategic Plan, where students learn how they can make a difference by participating in various charitable activities.

This includes high school students volunteering at the Chicago Marathon, to middle school students collecting food for needy families in their own school communities, to elementary students donating money to various organizations.
