Coroner: Joliet man injured in four-vehicle crash dies

The 68-year-old Joliet man who was critically injured in a four-vehicle crash on Jan. 10 in Crest Hill has died, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Richard A. Tafoya Sr. was the driver of a vehicle which collided with another vehicle on Weber Road approximately 20 feet south of Tomich Court in Crest Hill. Part of Weber Road was closed for about six hours that evening.

Tafoya was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet in critical condition, according to Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark. The Will County Coroner's Office said Tafoya died there at 3:23 p.m. on Tuesday.

The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date following the completion of police, autopsy and toxicology reports.

The Crest Hill Police Department and Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.

No one else was injured from the accident.
