A 30-year-old Orland Park woman suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after the SUV she was driving struck a semitrailer on Interstate 294 near Glenview.
State police responded to a crash about 3 p.m. Thursday at southbound I-294 near Willow Road, according to a news release. Preliminary investigation showed a 41-year-old Plainfield man had parked a semitrailer off the righthand side of the roadway with its hazard lights on. The woman, driving a Toyota SUV, veered off the interstate, rear-ending the truck.
Flight for Life was called, and the woman was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The Plainfield man was not injured. Police said all lanes were reopened about 9 p.m. Thursday, and the crash was under investigation.
