Two top country performers, Cole Swindell and Scott McCreery, will play Taste of Joliet.
The Joliet Park District on Wednesday announced the acts for country music night at Taste – two established performers who continue to release top hits.
Swindell’s latest album, “All of It,” was released in August.
McCreery, who won “American Idol” in 2011, reached No. 1 in country singles charts a year ago with “Five More Minutes.”
McCreery will go on stage at 7:30 p.m. and Swindell will perform at 9 p.m. June 22.
“This may be our best lineup yet,” park district Deputy Director Brad Staab said.
Taste of Joliet is getting recognition in the music industry as an event that can deliver an audience for top performers, he said.
“When you start bringing in crowds like 27,000, that’s a great venue,” Staab said, noting the turnout for country music night last year.
Swindell is known for songs such as “Chillin’ It,” “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and “You Should Be Here.”
McCreery’s hits include “This Is It,” “See You Tonight” and “Feelin’ It.” His debut album, “Clear As Day,” was released in 2011.
They join Foreigner, which plays June 21, as headliners of this year’s Taste of Joliet.
