KNOW MORE

According to a news release from Sarah Randolph, music and choral director for Lockport School District 91, Rialto Square Theatre "came to the rescue" when the Kelvin Grove School gym flooded due to a water valve problem.

Students in fifth through eighth grade, and select student organists in grades four through eight were scheduled to perform two shows on Dec. 18 – one in the morning and one the afternoon – in the Kelvin Grove gym in Lockport.

In the past, two shows during the school day had to be scheduled because of over 800 capacity crowds in the school gym.

When the gym flooded, the floor started to buckle and the school found they had to close the gym immediately for four months and find another large venue.

The school has a beginning band, intermediate band, concert band, taught by Nicole Plagman. Kindergarten through grade general music and fifth to eighth grade choir are taught by Randolph.
