Plainfield police announced that they made three DUI arrests and issued 84 seatbelt
citations during an enforcement period over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
The department made efforts to spread the word about impaired driving and buckling up and said because of that, the streets were safer.
Police worked with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners during the campaign.
“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns are statewide efforts provided by federal highway safety funds and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
A number of other agencies, including Illinois State Police and other local police departments were also participating in the campaign over the weekend.
