The Shorewood Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in gathering information about a possible burglar in the area.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page Sunday, police urged residents to review any home video surveillance from over the weekend in an attempt to identify a burglary suspect and his vehicle.
“We would ask our residents to take note of the ordinance in regard to solicitation at your residences as well as to report any and all suspicious people in and around your neighborhood,” the post said.
Shorewood police said in a news release that several incidents of burglary and home invasion took place between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 16 on Helene Street and Caprice Drive.
The suspect was described by police as either a white or Hispanic male in his early 30s. The vehicle he was driving appeared to be a black or dark gray pickup truck.
The suspect reportedly used different methods of entry, such as an attempted ruse at homes that were occupied and forced entry in homes that were unoccupied.
Anyone who sees either the vehicle or the suspect is asked to call Shorewood police at 815-725-4636 or 911.
If residents realize they have video of the individual or vehicle, they are asked to call the Investigations Division at 815-725-1460.
