On March 12, five students and two teachers from varying JTHS Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses represented Joliet Township High School at the Capital in Springfield to showcase the outcomes and positive impacts for CTE programs throughout the state of Illinois.
John Barber, Joliet West CTE Teacher and Holly Camerano, Joliet Central family and consumer science teacher participated with students Hunter Brooks, Monica Cherington, Jalen Gray, Harasnsa Hernandez and Jenna Turner.
Each of these exemplary students volunteered to showcase multiple course in the areas of business education, family and consumer science, health occupations and technology education.
To showcase CTE programs, students shared with different representatives the skills they learned, what they are able to do with them, and potential careers they are connected to.
At the table, representatives were able to view artifacts from the courses as the students discussed them and how they demonstrate the skills in that course.
