The University of St. Francis in Joliet will welcome the sixth annual Bluestem Earth Festival to campus May 18.
The festival will feature more than 90 eco-conscious exhibits and vendors, Earth-friendly activities, live demonstrations, local food and children’s activities, according to a news release.
Families with children can stop by the Bluestem Children’s Tent for crafts, activities, a presentation on “The Dynamic Energy of Worms” and an interactive animal program from the Scales and Tales Traveling Zoo.
The fest will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pat Sullivan Recreation Center and on the quad area on the university’s main campus.
Will County also will have a document destruction event from 9 a.m. to noon May 18 for Will County residents only in conjunction with the festival in the USF parking lot, at the corner of Taylor Street and Plainfield Road in Joliet. Acceptable items include personal documents, old check stubs and miscellaneous documents.
