Joliet is asking residents and business owners to take an online survey concerning the city’s search for a new source of water to replace its groundwater system.
The survey to gauge community awareness of the water initiative can be found on the city website at rethinkwaterjoliet.org, which also has information about Joliet’s plan to find a new water source.
“We would like to see every resident and business owner participate in this survey,” utilities director Allison Swisher said in a news release on the survey. “This also gives folks the opportunity to sign up for our mailing list to be kept informed on the process.”
Joliet plans to have a new source of water by 2030. The city is looking at Lake Michigan, the Kankakee River and the Illinois River.
