Several sites and buildings within the Plainfield Park District have been hit with destructive vandalism in the past week, according to park officials.
Signage at Mather Woods, a toilet at Village Green Park and a light at the Ottawa Street ball field were damaged, according to the park district.
The first incident began Saturday night when signs at Mather Woods on Renwick Road were sprayed with black paint, Plainfield Parks and Planning Director Jennifer Rooks-Lopez said.
“It’s pretty excessive. It’s more than we typically see,” she said.
On Sunday, a light at the Ottawa Street ball field was damaged, she said.
On Monday, a toilet inside a restroom at Village Green Park on Chicago Street appeared to have been completely destroyed, Rooks-Lopez said.
