A Bolingbrook man on parole was arrested for allegedly grabbing and pushing his girlfriend and driving a car toward her three daughters, according to court records.

About 12:30 p.m. June 14, Esteban Rivera, 38, of the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive was arrested and booked into the Will County jail in connection with the incident that occurred on April 9.

Rivera has been on parole since April 6, 2018. He was sentenced to prison after being convicted of possession of a weapon by a felon and manufacture and delivery of a cocaine-like substance.

Rivera was charged with grabbing and pushing his 31-year-old girlfriend, and driving a red Ford toward her three daughters, who are ages 4, 6 and 10, according to a protective order petitioned for by the girlfriend.

Rivera is being held at the jail on a $20,000 bond.

He has been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and reckless driving.

Rivera’s girlfriend accused him of being an alcoholic who is abusive toward her, according to the protective order.

“Esteban was drunk and I asked him to slow down his drinking. … He slapped my glasses off my face and kicked the garbage can and shoved me into the kitchen cabinets,” she said.

Rivera’s girlfriend claimed that when she decided to leave him with her daughters, he grabbed her car keys, took her car and “sped off so fast I had to grab the kids to make sure he didn’t hit them,” according to the protective order.
