Among those in Bolingbrook High School's graduating class this year were six young men who had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America.
Kevin Januska, Drew McFadyen, Kyle Januska, Colin Stuart, Voytek Korta and Caleb Erickson were the six graduates who earned the rare accomplishment. This year, around 50,000 Scouts will become Eagle Scouts in the U.S., or about one per every high school in the country, according to a news release from Valley View School District 365U.
These six Scouts also had the distinction of moving up the ranks as a group, going all the way back to when they were members of Pack 31 as Cub Scouts. They've also been going to school together since they were students at Tibbott Elementary School in Bolingbrook. In addition, all six will attend college in the Chicago area.
