Butterfly release on June 4 at Edward Hospital celebrated life

The event was for families who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death. More than 150 people attended.

More than 150 people attended the SHARE Wings of Hope Angel Garden Blessing & Butterfly Release on June 4 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

he guest speaker for this year’s event was Dr. Maliha Sayla, an obstetrician-gynecologist with DuPage Medical Group, who talked about the grief journey.

SHARE, now in its 30th year, is a support group at Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.

The garden opened in 2010 as a place for parents who have lost a baby to remember and celebrate their child's life.

SHARE also coordinates special events to raise awareness, including an annual Walk to Remember.
