To the Editor:
As a lifelong fisherman, it seems unlikely to me that the Asian carp will thrive in the crystal clear waters of Lake Michigan with its swift, powerful hunters – lake trout and salmon. Especially considering the habitat carp thrive in – the muddy, turbid, organic-laden Illinois River system.
Everybody seems to patting themselves on the back for the expert containment job, but the more powerful forces of Mother Nature deserve most of the credit. Lake Erie however is another matter where the efforts should be concentrated, if it can be done.
