A Joliet man was arrested after he shot at the tire of a car driven by a woman who was in possession of his cellphone, police said.
About 5 a.m. Sunday, officers at the Joliet Police Department met with a woman who said that a man shot at her vehicle, Joliet police said on the department’s Facebook page.
Police said they believe the woman was in possession of a cellphone that belonged to Armand J. D’Antignac, 30, of the 1100 block of Ridgewood Avenue.
The woman and D’Antignac apparently decided to meet at the police station to exchange the phone but the woman never showed up, police said.
D’Antignac found the woman in her vehicle near Jefferson and Scott streets, police said, then cut off the woman’s vehicle with his vehicle in order to stop her.
D’Antignac demanded his cellphone back from the woman and argument ensued between the two, police said.
The woman then threw the cellphone out of the car window and drove to the Joliet Police Department to report the incident, police said.
Officers met with D’Antignac at Jackson and Collins street, police said, and were able to find spent shell casing near Scott and Jefferson streets.
The officers were also able to locate and secure the firearm they believe was used in the incident, police said.
D’Antignac was booked into the Will County jail shortly after 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
