In the first week of August, Plainfield will host an event aimed at accomplishing three things: help the environment, reduce clutter and help those in need.
Plainfield United Methodist Church's Green Team Small Group will hold its seventh annual "Plainfield Really, Really Free Market" on Aug. 3.
The Green Team was formed to encourage the congregation to embrace recycling, composting and other environmental initiatives, according to PUMC.
The market involves redistributing unneeded items to those who do need them, with donors taking what they need.
The market is holding its first job fair, with such employers as Rich's Foods, Teledyne Storm Microwave, Cornerstone Services and the U.S. Census Bureau.
Donate items at 24401 W. Lockport St. or 15114 S. Illinois St. in Plainfield.
