The Valley View School District 365U Board of Education recently approved two administrative hires at Bolingbrook High School and at the district's Secondary Transition Experience Program (STEP).
Melanie Phelan was hired to become the next principal at STEP, according to a news release from the district.
Phelan began her education career in 2003 as a second grade multi-needs teacher at Talala Elementary School in Crete-Monee District 201U. She joined VVSD staff in 2011 as a transition specialist within STEP. She earned her bachelor's degree in 2003 and two master's degrees from Governor's State University.
Rebecca Williams was hired as the Bolingbrook High School Core Content Administrator for Science.
Williams began her career in 2004 as a science teacher at Marquardt School District 15. After 13 years in the classroom, she became an assistant principal at Parker Junior High School in 2017. She earned her bachelor's degree in 2003 from the University of St. Francis in Joliet and two master's degrees from Benedictine University in 2010 and 2011.
