Will County Health Department offers immunizations by appointment

As the school year approaches, the Will County Health Department wanted parents and students to know about its immunization office appointment policy.

Because of the volume of clients, the Health Department’s Immunization Office changed its policy to by appointment about a year ago. To make an appointment with the immunizations office at the facility located at 501 Ella Ave. in Joliet, call 815-740-8143.

Additional insurance plans are now accepted for immunizations at the Will County Health Department so basically anyone can receive them, immunizations coordinator Lisa Carlson said in a news release.

Residents in the other parts of the county can also make appointments at the Health Department’s Monee office at 5601 W. Monee-Manhattan Road, or at the Bolingbrook office at 323 Quadrangle Drive.

The appointment desk take calls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fridays.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
