A 45-year-old man was arrested on a warrant charging him with trying to rob a man at knifepoint in 2018 near downtown Plainfield, according to police and court records.
About 9:15 p.m. Friday, Stanley T. Muich, of the 2400 block of West Main Street, Plainfield, was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of attempted armed robbery.
On Sept. 18, Muich allegedly threatened a man with a knife and demanded his money, according to a criminal complaint.
Plainfield Detective Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said in an email that nothing was taken from the victim. The victim was not injured and the incident took place near downtown Plainfield, McQuaid said.
McQuaid said that the alleged attempted robbery took place on the street, not at a business.
Will County Judge Carmen Goodman signed a warrant for Muich’s arrest Thursday.
The warrant for Muich’s arrest carries a $750,000. Muich needs to post $75,000 for his release.
On Sept. 19, 2011, Muich pleaded guilty to damaging a man’s laptop and external hard drive.
Muich was thrown out of a bar for allegedly groping women, but went
back inside and damaged a computer, according to statements of facts filed in the case.
Muich had been sentenced to two years in prison.
