Letter: Officials spend like drunken sailors

To the Editor:

I just read the article in The Herald-News that states that the state's finances are in bad shape. My question is, "does not the so called elected representatives, whom are supposed to be fiduciaries for the taxpayers of the state, not read these reports?"

The little rich boy governor JB Prtizker just signed a bill to raise all of the states teachers starting pay to $40,000. I do not know how many teachers this will affect, but I think someone should get the figures before they act. Sounds reasonable to me.

These so-called elected representatives have learned nothing from the last financial and real estate meltdown of 2007-2009, and guess what? Chicken Little says there is going to be another meltdown and much bigger than the last one, and yet these so-called elected representatives are spending like a drunken sailor drinks.

Maybe when it happens, if little rich boy JB is still in office, he will give away his vast wealth that he did not personally work for to all those that will be affected? Yeah right.
