Valley View School District 365U earned a 53% increase in its number of Advanced Placement scholars from this past spring's testing for the 2018-19 school year.
A total of 292 VVSD students earned designation as AP scholars by scoring a three or higher on three or more AP exams, according to a news release from the district. AP exams are graded on a scale from zero to five, with five being the highest possible score. Forty seven AP Scholars with Distinction represent an increase of 34% over the 35 students who received the same designation last year. Forty five students earned the distinction as an AP Scholar with Honor, up from 34 students.
The VVSD Board of Education will recognize the achievement of this year's AP scholars at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at John J. Luckancic Middle School in Romeoville.
