A spent shell casing was found in a boys locker room at the Minooka High School Central Campus on Monday, although the district said there appeared to be no threat to the school.
Minooka High School District 111 published a message on its Facebook page Monday afternoon about the incident.
The post said a student told a teacher Monday morning that the shell casing was found in the locker room.
“With recent events, we understand that there is a heightened level of concern around school safety,” the post read. “Safety is our number one priority, and we take all reports seriously.”
The central campus administration, along with the school resource officer and the Minooka Police Department, performed a search. No additional shell casings were found.
