But the part that makes the tour unique was the supernatural element they bring to the experience.
Klimek is a sensitive – someone with an affinity for sensing spirits – and with Smith, he attempts to communicate with spirits on each tour and, depending on what they can get, make each tour a little different.
It’s not a traditional walking tour with a lot of storytelling. Instead, if anyone sees or senses anything out of the ordinary, they’ll stop and try to make small talk with the dead.
One way to pick up spirits is through an Extinction Level Event Zone Meter each guest got to carry around for the tour. There were three levels that light up: safe, caution and danger. “Caution” meant there is something present nearby and “danger” meant Klimek would stop and try to see what was up.
“I need to know immediately,” Klimek said. “Because I need to know if it’s a good spirit or a not good spirit.”
So how do they communicate?
