Workers on Monday were repairing a problem with the upstream center lock, said Gianna Urgo, spokeswoman with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The drawbridge was shut down for more than two months in the summer because of a problem with the downstream center lock, she said. At that time the center lock mechanism was sent away for repairs before the bridge reopened on Sept. 18.
"This mechanical issue is unrelated to the previous closures on Brandon Road," Urgo said
