Koziel also had a few run-ins with the law.
The Will County jail log shows Koziel was booked at the jail June 27 on three misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and one misdemeanor charge of resisting a peace officer. She was booked again in connection with the same charges from Oct. 4 to 5. Jail log records list her address at that time as being in the 11500 block of Bryn Mawr Way in Mokena.
Circuit Court records show that at a custody information hearing June 27, bond was set for Koziel at $5,000 and as a condition of bond, she was ordered to have no contact with Shawn Doner, who is Koziel’s stepfather, Gill said. Koziel pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years of court supervision and had to pay fines and/or penalty fees.
There were a number of other charges she faced for petty offenses in the past few years, including underage alcohol consumption, possession of cannabis and theft. Some charges were dismissed, but the most she ever was sentenced for were fines and six-month court supervision for one of the underage drinking charges.
One of the most recent run-ins with the law took place at the Rodeway Inn at 1730 McDonough St. in Joliet, hotel employees said. The general manager of the hotel, Viren Patel, said he remembered Koziel staying there for a period of time.
Another hotel employee, Eddie Bonds, said he also remembered Koziel coming to the hotel with a man named Tom, although he didn’t know the man’s last name.
