Goldtrap said she does practice before the big night, especially if she's trying out a new makeup technique. On average, Goldtrap needs an hour to complete the transformation.
"It depends on what I have to do with my hair and costume," Goldtrap said.
In 2017, Goldtrap created her version of "Bride of Frankenstein," an idea she gleaned from a makeup artist she follows on YouTube.
"It turned out better than I thought it would," Goldtrap said.
Goldtrap's friend, Jasmine Rosenboom, of Channahon, said she helped Goldtrap with the hair portion of the costume, using Goldtrap's real hair, a two-liter pop bottle and a hair net.
Basically, Rosenboom wrapped Goldtrap's hair in and around the bottle, pinning it to the net. The pop bottle kept Goldtrap's hair in place and the hair hid the bottle.
