Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said the shooting occurred about 2:50 p.m. on Second Avenue just east of Richards Street.

As police cars blocked the street, an evidence technician was called to the scene and took pictures of a tan Buick sedan that was parked in a nearby driveway. Other officers questioned a young woman, who pointed from one side of the street to a neighboring lawn.
