Business briefs: Culver’s set to open on Monday in Joliet

Culver’s of Joliet, at 219 S. Larkin Ave., will open for the first time from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday. Owners Baron and Bryon Waller also own Culver’s restaurants in New Lenox and Lockport.

“We’re thrilled to bring custom, made-to-order, high-quality meals and desserts to Joliet, all served with a friendly smile,” Baron Waller said in a press release. “We’re excited to become a supportive member within the community, and proud to have added more than 65 jobs to the local workforce.”

Aldi in Romeoville set to expand

At Wednesday’s Romeoville Village Board meeting, village officials gave approval for grocery retailer Aldi to construct an addition to its store at 398 S. Weber Road. The store first opened at this location in 2009.

The village board approved the site plan for the 2,060-square-foot expansion. The expansion will add square footage to the front of the store, allowing them to offer more refrigerated space inside and to reconfigure the checkout area.

“It is great to see existing retailers reinvest in our community and grow their operation. An expansion is proof that the company cares about their customers and wants to offer more space, quality products and an improved shopping experience,” Romeoville Mayor John Noak said in a press release.

Construction is anticipated to begin this spring.

Romeoville’s Paragon Business Park to get new Opus building

The Opus Group plans to construct a 111,345-square-foot speculative industrial development located in the Interstate 55 industrial corridor in Romeoville. This will be the second and final phase of its project at the Paragon Business Park after constructing and selling two other speculative industrial developments in 2016.

The building will feature 30-foot clear height and can accommodate a single user or up to three tenants. Additionally, the building will have 12 loading docks (expandable to 28), 16 trailer parking positions against the building, up to 88 car parking spaces and an ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) sprinkler system.

Opus’ recent portfolio of work includes more than 6.8 million square feet of industrial developments currently under construction or completed in the past 24 months across the United States, including 1325 Remington Blvd. in Bolingbrook.

Construction of 101 Paragon is scheduled to begin this spring with completion in late August 2017.
