JOLIET – The Joliet Junior College chorale will present its 16th Annual Carols and Chocolate concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Fine Arts Theatre on JJC’s Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
Following the concert, the audience will be invited to enjoy a complimentary buffet of fabulous chocolate delights donated by local businesses and by members of the Chorale.
The program selected by Philip Spencer, conductor, will feature a variety of choral music for the holiday season.
The major work will be "Magnificat" by Andrew Carter, a contemporary composer from England. This concert will feature student soloists and instrumentalists in addition to the 45-voice community choir.
Special guests will be the chamber singers from Hinsdale Adventist Academy, directed by Chandran J. Daniel, an alumnus of JJC.
The concert will also include a variety of interesting and entertaining holiday carols and anthems including a Hanukkah carol, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and "Jingle Bells Festivo.".
In addition, the chorale’s director will lead the audience in a jazzy carol sing-along from the piano.
Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Theatre Box Office one hour prior to the concert: $5 adults, $4 students and seniors, $2 JJC students.
