Cantor Jessica Tobacman, director of music at Joliet Jewish Congregation, will be the cantor for this year’s High Holiday services at the synagogue which is located at 250 N. Midland Ave. Joliet.
Tobacman has a Bachelor of Arts in music from Elmhurst College, two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Brandeis University (graduating cum laude) and a Master of Arts from Columbia College.
She also is a music instrument and voice teacher in Naperville. Tobacman is multi-lingual in French, Italian, German and Hebrew. She also plays piano, guitar and viola.
High Holiday services for Rosh Hashanah will be 7 p.m. Sept. 9, 9 a.m. Sept. 10 and Sept. 11; 7 p.m. Sept. 18 for Kol Nidre and 9 a.m. Sept. 19 for Yom Kippur. Call 815-741-4600.
