Building owner Mike Petry said he expects to reopen the space that housed the recently closed Kalypso restaurant.
“There are multiple people who are calling and interested in opening a restaurant there,” Petry said Tuesday. “There are four interested parties.”
Kalypso had a short life, opening in August and replacing the Tin Roof restaurant that had been there for four years.
The space at 158 N. Chicago St. has operated as a restaurant under at least four names, having once housed Barolo Ristorante before that restaurant moved to its current location on Black Road.
The closing of Kalypso comes at a time when several new restaurants have been opening downtown. The most recent was K Ribs & BBQ, a Korean barbecue restaurant that opened in October.
