Taste of Joliet festivalgoers will have the opportunity to hear some rock ’n’ roll classics this year.
Foreigner will headline the event’s first night, the Joliet Park District, who organizes the event each year, announced Wednesday.
The band, which was just named to the “Top 40” best selling music artists of all time with 10 multiplatinum albums and 16 “Top 30” songs, will take to the stage at 9 p.m. June 21.
The group is best known for songs like “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
Taste of Joliet 2019 will take place from June 21 to 23. Information, including ticket sales, will later become available at tasteofjoliet.com.
Front section tickets for Foreigner will cost $53, general admission will cost $14 online and $16 the day of show, seniors are $5 each day and children are free. Organizers also have decided not to charge a $3 service fee per ticket this year, Park District Deputy Director Brad Staab said.
Foreigner will perform Friday, which has regularly become rock music night at the Taste of Joliet.
Staab said the Park District is completing contracts for the country acts to perform Saturday and will announce those soon. Latin music is planned for Sunday with the performers to be announced later.
