More fear and confusion about socialized medicine is being spread. The problem is there is not even a committee putting this together. No one has a bill or idea of what exactly this would mean to people in this country.
What there is an idea that we are the only industrialized country that doesn’t have a system to take care of its citizens. In reality we do, but we don’t talk about it. If an uninsured person is treated, the bill gets mysteriously transferred, in part to government programs and higher costs to insured patients
With the current system we have a huge level of bloat in the form of management receiving a huge pay scale that just would not exist in a Medicare-type system.
I love wealth redistribution. I especially like the idea of higher wages and/or fewer taxes. Things are just too far out of whack with the rules on conglomerates and monopolies being destroyed.
The average federal income tax rate of the richest 400 Americans was just 20 percent in 2009. That’s before the latest tax cut. The average middle class pays a higher percentage. What Rep. Ocasio-Cortez proposed is 70 percent. It was more than 90 percent before the tax cuts of the last few decades.
There will be a redistribution of wealth as we move from coal, oil, and gas to wind and solar. This change is not only happening here, it is global. Some industries will take a hit in the bottom line but others will get a huge boost. Wealth will move from one industry to a new and different industry.
This happens all the time and it’s not communism. It’s change. This change is needed for people all over the world.
