The Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Friends for Charitable Giving, a group of community-minded volunteers, announced that over $114,000 in net proceeds was raised at the 2019 Plainfield Giving Gala.
Approximately 300 guests attended the black tie affair which was held on Feb. 16 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
In addition to a formal dinner the event included an open bar, silent and live auctions, cash raffle and dancing to a 10-piece orchestra.
The mission of the Plainfield Giving Gala is to raise funds for charitable causes throughout the Plainfield area. Ron Kazmar, who along with his wife Kathy were the co- chairs of the 2019 Giving Gala.
Next year's event will be held Feb. 22 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
Net proceeds from the 2019 Plainfield Giving Gala will be used to provide grants to local nonprofits that provide services primarily within the boundaries of Plainfield School District 202.
