Students will participate in an Arbor Day Celebration and take part in a tree planting ceremony.

Joliet was also named Tree City USA for 28th consecutive year.

Winners of the “Trees are Terrific” Arbor Day Poster Contest from Grand Prairie Elementary School are: Chloe Roberts (kindergarten), Ryker Turek (first grade), Angelina Alvarez and Abby Cavenaile (second grade), Kailynn Mariscal (third grade), Angelina Truhlar (fourth grade) and Olivia Cavenaile (fifth grade).

Winning posters will be on display at Joliet City Hall’s main lobby (on the first floor) until April 25 and at Grand Prairie School on Arbor Day and the following week.
