A $5,000 reward is being offered for anyone who can provide information about an unsolved shooting death in Crest Hill.
Aaron Tucker, 20, of Joliet was shot to death while sitting in a car in November in the parking lot outside an apartment building at 1461 Pioneer Road. Tucker was one of two people in the car. The other person was not hit.
Crest Hill police called the investigation “active” in a news release Wednesday and provided photos of Tucker. Anyone with information should call investigator Joe Locasto at 815-741-5115 or can remain anonymous by submitting tips to crimestoppersofwillcounty.org.
One area resident told The Herald-News the shooter was believed to have been standing on a balcony of the three-story apartment building. Others said he had gone back into the building after the shooting occurred at 11:30 a.m.
Clark, however, said police were able to determine the shooter was not in the apartment building shortly after they arrived at the scene. Clark previously declined to comment on whether the shooter was on an apartment balcony and would say only that he was in the area of the building.
The building is along a row of apartments that line Pioneer Road and is an area that has had other incidents in recent years.
