A 23-year-old man reportedly burglarized two homes on Davis Avenue early Thursday morning.
Rockdale police were first called to the 100 block of Davis Avenue for a report of a burglary, the department said in a post on its Facebook page.
Moments later, police said in the Facebook post, officers were alerted to another burglary on the next block of Davis Avenue.
Rockdale resident Alexander Liebich was taken into custody
in connection with the two break-ins.
Liebich, who lives in the same block of Davis Avenue as the second burglarized home, police said, was arrested on probable cause of residential burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.
A neighbor who asked not to be identified said one of the burglaries occurred at the home of Liebich’s grandfather. He also said several guns were stolen.
The neighbor went on to say Liebich stole credit cards, laptops and car keys during the second burglary.
Liebich was apprehended just hours after the burglaries took place with the help of K-9 Unit Roxie and Joliet police.
Jail records list the Joliet police as the arresting agency in the case.
Liebich previously was in custody in the county jail as recently as March 16, in connection with a 2018 resisting arrest case.
Liebich was scheduled to appear at 1:30 p.m. Friday for a bond hearing.
