The Romeoville Police Department sent out an alert Wednesday morning, asking residents to be on the lookout for a missing 79-year-old man.

Mariano Tello was last seen leaving his residence on Murphy Drive in Romeoville at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the alert. He was driving to South Larkin Avenue in Joliet in a green 2016 Kia Soul SUV, with Illinois license plate Q191214.

Tello suffers from physical and cognitive impairments that place him at risk, the alert said.

He is 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighs 195 pounds, has white hair and brown eyes and is wearing a white hat, glasses, a blue polo shirt with black and white stripes, beige pants and brown shoes. He walks with a cane.

Anyone with information on Tello's whereabouts is asked to call Romeoville police at 815-886-7219 or call 911.
