A Joliet man was driving under the influence when he crashed his vehicle into the northwest section of the Harrah’s casino parking garage in Joliet and injured himself, police said.
About 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Justin M. Stark, 24, of the 1000 block of Gardner Street was booked into the Will County jail on probable cause of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed, improper turn at an intersection and improper traffic lane usage.
Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum said Stark was receiving treatment from paramedics with the Joliet Fire Department when officers responded to the scene of the crash.
Botzum said Stark suffered a minor laceration as a result of the crash.
Stark’s booking photo appears to show an injury to his right eye.
Botzum said the intoxicated Stark crashed his car into the northwest section of the downtown Harrah’s casino parking garage.
Stark faces a count each of DUI and DUI with a blood-alcohol content over 0.08%.
Both charges are class A misdemeanor charges and are punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Stark’s bond was set at $1,500.
Stark posted $150 bail Thursday and was released from custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility at
7 p.m. that evening.
