Biker injured in a crash near Three Rivers parade: cops

Police are investigating the cause of the motorcycle crash

The operator of a motorcycle was injured in a single-vehicle crash near the Three Rivers Festival parade in Channahon, police said.

About noon on Bridge Street, a 43-year-old Minooka man was involved in a crash that occurred near the festival, Channahon Deputy Police Chief Adam Bogart said in an email.

Bogart said the festival was set to begin at noon and the operator of the motorcycle was seen in the area just before the crash.

Bogart said the crash occurred in the roadway and preliminary indications show the motorcycle did not crash into “anything other than the roadway.” He said the man may have lost control of the motorcycle.

Bogart said a witness reported the accident was a single-vehicle crash.

He said the cause of the motorcycle crash is under investigation.

The motorcycle driver suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, Bogart said.

“The seriousness of the driver’s injuries prevented officers from interviewing him,” he said.

After the incident, the driver was taken to Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet for treatment of his injuries, he said.

Bogart said the investigation of the crash remains open.

Anyone with additional information should call the Channahon Police Department at 815-467-2112, he said.
