As construction continues on the new Will County Courthouse in downtown Joliet, part of North Joliet Street will close for several months to accommodate roadway improvements in the area.
Northbound Joliet Street between Washington and Jefferson streets closed Wednesday, according to a news release from the city of Joliet. The closure should last about two months. A detour will be posted using Washington, Des Plaines and Jefferson streets. The closure is related to roadway improvements associated with the new courthouse, according to the release.
Southbound traffic will remain open, as well as parking on the west side of Joliet Street, adjacent to City Hall.
For more information about the closure, call the Department of Public Works at 815-724-4200.
