An unoccupied Lockport home sustained “extensive damage” after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning.
Lockport fire crews responded about
3 a.m. Tuesday to a reported house fire in the 1900 block of Jack Pine Way in Lockport, according to a news release from the fire protection district.
When firefighters arrived, they saw a two-story home with heavy fire on the second floor, in the front of the house. The blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes, but caused extensive damage throughout the building, according to release.
No one was injured in the incident, and the home was unoccupied at the time.
Fire crews from East Joliet and Northwest Homer assisted Lockport at the scene, while Homer, Lemont, Romeoville, Plainfield and New Lenox provided station coverage, according to release.
The fire’s cause was under investigation later Tuesday. Officials did not provide information about the cost of the damage.
