Independence Elementary School in Romeoville hosted an academic, cultural and artistic event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
Students wore the clothing of their heritage, created informational displays about their families’ nations, and provided ethnic foods and goodies.
Students represented the nations of their ancestors including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. T
he food prepared for the event came from donations by the parents of the students, with some help from Taco Dale of Bolingbrook.
