All across the United States, Office Max stores support schools in their communities.
However, Bolingbrook OfficeMax store manager Mike Solis had a different idea.
Instead of smaller donations to several schools, he wanted his store to focus on a larger donation of school supplies to one school.
Solis selected B.J. Ward Elementary School. For four months beginning in June, customers were asked if they wanted to make a donation to purchase school supplies for B.J. Ward students.
The generosity of the community resulted in the collection of $4725, which was used to purchase and package school supplies. B.J. Ward principal Mrs.
Kathy Nigro and VVSD community schools site coordinator Alfred Morales accepted the donation.
