Two Sunday morning shootings within a half hour and a mere 2 miles away from each other left no one killed or wounded, but did damage two motor vehicles and a home, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to the area near the corner of Wheeler and Fisk avenues at 11:26 a.m.
Officers said they found shell casings in the intersection.
The officers reported that two unoccupied vehicles parked on Wheeler and a residence on Fisk had been struck by gunfire.
Officers believe the shooter opened fire from a dark vehicle, firing off several rounds in the direction of another vehicle, and that both cars fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
Then, at 11:52 a.m., officers responded to a shooting near Vine and Ruby streets.
Officers found spent shell casings on Vine between Ruby and Ross streets.
Police said that no injuries were reported and no property was damaged, and that the shooting is under investigation. The shooting at Wheeler and Fisk also remains under investigation.
Police asked those with information on either shooting to call the department at 815-724-3100, or contact Will County Crime Stoppers at 800-323-6734 or crimestoppersofwillcounty.org.
