Joliet author to sign books at Crest Hill’s Book Market

WriteOn Joliet member Robert Hafey will chat and sign books from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at The Book Market located at 2365 Plainfield Road in Crest Hill.

The event is free and open to the public.

Hafey, of Homer Glen, worked in the field of manufacturing until he started a successful consulting business in 2010.

While traveling for business on a flight from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia, a conversation with a woman seated next to him motivated him to write this memoir.

“Boomhood—A Baby Boomer’s Free-Range Childhood,” is a flash-back, whimsical and fun account of Hafey’s childhood and an honest recollection of growing up in Joliet during the 1950s and 1960s.

WriteOn Joliet is a welcoming, diverse group of writers of varied skills, interests and experience. The group includes professional journalists, fiction novelists, bloggers, screenwriters, musicians and poets.

The group provides a safe, comfortable and supportive atmosphere for Joliet-area writers to share their work, and constructive feedback so that everyone can benefit from its members’ shared knowledge.

WriteOn Joliet and The Book Market proudly partner to promote the Joliet-area writing community, encourage literacy and support local bookstores.
