Meal preparation an annual tradition for JJC students
During the “Feed the Hunger” event on Oct. 23, Joliet Junior College culinary students and faculty cooked, baked and plated about 500 meals.
This included hunter-style stew, rice pilaf, freshly baked bread and cobbler for MorningStar Mission and Daybreak Center, both in Joliet.
It took about eight days to prepare the food and an hour to box it up. About 100 students were involved in the entire process. Chefs Kenneth Thompson and Chef Paul Bringas oversaw the process.
