Thirteen Lincoln-Way students have been selected to perform at the Illinois Music Education Association’s (ILMEA) all-state concert on Feb. 1 in Peoria.
The all-state concert is composed of 1,500 selected musicians representing over 300 schools across Illinois.
Students were selected through an audition process as a representation of the best musicians in each of the nine Illinois Music Education Association districts.
Students and their directors will attend the 2020 Illinois Music Education Conference Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.
While the directors are attending sessions full of fresh ideas to bring to their classrooms, students are rehearsing for the conference’s culminating concert.
Students rehearse with other musicians from all over the state in honors and all-state Band, honors and all-state orchestra, honors and all-state chorus, honors and all-state vocal jazz, and honors and all-state jazz band.
